On December 3rd, the first GSO Open Day was held: the International School of Oderzo opened its door to parents, students and anyone interested in learning about the advantages of an international education. The school, which is presently pursuing IB authorization, is founded on a new pedagogical model based on innovative principles that differ from the traditional approach to learning.
During the Open Day, everyone who attended had the chance to view the future project under development. School spaces were prepared with images and panels representing the future face of the International School.
In support of the exhibit, some of the members of Gentium Schola Opitergium’s administrative and teaching staff were available individually to answer questions of those students and parents who were interested in knowing more about the education provided by the school. Among those present were our Head of School, Giordano Casonato, our Senior Consultant Coordinator, Walther Hetzer, our IB Coordinator, Barbara Gostisa, our CAS Coordinator, Nicoletta Sforzin, and our History teacher, Andrea Mattia Marcelli. They held presentations throughout the day. As a backdrop to the entire event was our cartoonist, who was available to caricature Jules, our ancient Opitergium protagonist of the GSO online comic strip; on the other side, next to the bar, was our Music teacher who, together with the voice of Angelica, provided entertainment for our guests while they were having a coffee and looking at our handbook.
Giordano Casonato, our Head of School, declared: “I could not be happier seeing how much interest and curiosity has been generated by Gentium Schola Opitergium within the community and the thing that excites me most is when students come to me asking direct questions about classes and study plans.”
To those who have missed our Open Day, don’t worry, there will be another upcoming event soon to be announced.
